PKN ORLEN is one of the largest oil industry companies in Central and Eastern Europe. The Company has seven refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
PKN ORLEN’s market showpiece is a network of fuel stations located in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Lithuania under the ORLEN, Bliska, Star, Benzina and ORLEN Lietuva brands, providing customers with products and services of the highest quality, including trial sales of biofuels at Bliska station from the 4th quarter of 2007.
The Company’s largest integrated refi nery and petrochemical complex, located in Płock, is ranked as one of the five most modern and efficient facilities of its kind in Europe. It produces a wide range of products made from processed crude oil. These include, among others, unleaded petrol, diesel, heating oil, aviation fuel, bitumens, petrochemical products, plastics and base oils.
In 2007, crude oil processing in ORLEN Group totalled 22.8 million tonnes. Above ground and underground
storage facilities and pipeline networks, either owned or leased, provide an effective logistics infrastructure guaranteeing the continuity of wholesale supplies and the effi cient operation of the retail network.
Operating regionally, PKN ORLEN is continuously improving its human resources management.
As of the end of 2007, the number of people employed in ORLEN Group totalled 22,927 persons [1], including 4,748 persons employed by PKN ORLEN, 5,002 persons in Unipetrol Group, 3,737 persons in Mažeikių Nafta Group, 3,448 in ANWIL Group and 104 persons employed by ORLEN Deutschland AG.
