As at December 31st 2013, Benzina s.r.o. managed a network of 338 service stations in the Czech Republic, operating primarily in the economy segment (198 Benzina stations) and the premium segment (113 Benzina Plus stations), as well as 27 service stations operating under the simplified model.
Benzina's successful operating activities contributed to a 1.1 pp growth in its market share, to 14.7%.OMV, Shell, Euro Oil and Lukoil, as well as service stations located at hypermarkets continue to be the company's main competitors.
2013 saw a continued decline in fuel consumption on the Czech market. However, despite the adverse market trends, Benzina's retail sales grew by 5.0% year on year in 2013 and amounted to 0.6bn litres. Thanks to marketing campaigns, more effective price management and initiatives enhancing the network's image, Benzina reported year-on-year increase in revenue from non-fuel sales of 5%. As at the end of 2013, the company's non-fuel offering included 92 service stations with catering areas operating in the Stop Cafe or Stop Cafe Bistro formats.
