In 2007, the ORLEN Group petrochemical segment consisted of selected production installations of PKN ORLEN together with Basell Orlen Polyolefins (BOP) and the Czech Chemopetrol. The report does not include the performance of Kaucuk, as that company was sold in July 2007.

Petrochemicals
In 2007, ORLEN Group produced over 1 million tonnes of ethylene in Poland and the Czech Republic, which represents a decrease of 2.1 percent in comparison to 2006. The propylene production in that period was nearly 620 thousand tonnes, 2.8 percent less than the volume in the preceding year. The reduction in production of the two basic petrochemical products resulted from a two-month maintenance standstill of all production installations in the Czech Republic.

The total volume of polyolefi ns produced in 2007 by ORLEN Group exceeded 1.2 million tonnes and was approximately 3.4 percent higher than in the previous year. In the report period, the production of polyethylene in Poland and the Czech Republic was maintained at a level similar to that in 2006 and was approximately 660 thousand tonnes. The production of polypropylene in 2007 totalled nearly 566 thousand tonnes, i.e. approximately 7.5 percent more than that generated by the Group in 2006.
