Compare 2007 - 2009

Fuels
In 2007, the Czech refinery plants of ORLEN Group processed in total over 4.1 million tonnes of crude oil, i.e. 3.3 percent less than in the previous year. The small decrease in raw material processing was caused by the planned maintenance standstill of the Litvinov refi nery plant in the second half of 2007.

The 77-day standstill of the installation in Litvinov had a direct influence on the volume of petrol and liquefied gas production in 2007. As a result of a warm winter, a fall in demand for light heating oil was an additional factor in the decrease in heating fuel production of over 22 percent. The increase in diesel oil production in the Czech refinery plants was possible due to the application by the Litvinov refinery plant of new production technology in Chamber 11, and also the reorientation of Kralup’s production from heating oil to diesel engine fuel.
