Compare 2007 - 2009

ORLEN Deutschland AG, a company with its registered office in Elmshorn, manages a network of 518 petrol stations, including 58 under the ORLEN brand, 431 under the Star brand and 29 stations located at hypermarkets. Fuel stations offer products and services, whose quality meets the stringent requirements of the European market. The majority of the Company’s outlets were located in north western Germany.

In 2007, ORLEN Deutschland developed a new strategy, “Rising Star”, aimed at product range optimisation and the repositioning of the STAR brand as the second strongest economy brand in Germany. Further development of the economy brand and completion of the retail network re-branding by the end of 2008 are part of our strategy.

In 2007, while closing the 10 least profitable outlets, the Group acquired 59 new locations for its retail network. A significant majority of stations in Germany (401) were owned by the Company, while the remaining 117 operated according to the DODO (dealer-owned, dealer-operated) formula. Within the next 2 years, the Company plans to achieve a 10 percent share in the retail market in North-West Germany.

The total volume of fuels sold in the German retail network increased from 1.5 billion litres in 2006 to over 1.6 billion litres as at the end of 2007.
