In 2007, ORLEN developed and launched the implementation of a medium-term retail sales strategy in the Baltic States. Planning retail network development in Lithuania and Latvia, the Company aims to win 20 percent of the consolidated Lithuanian and Latvian market.

Since the purchase of the controlling interest in Mažeikių Nafta in 2006, ORLEN Group manages in Lithuania a network of 34 stations administered by Ventus Nafta. 2007 was the fi rst year of the premium range under the ORLEN Lietuva brand on the Lithuanian market. At the end of the year, there were 12 stations operating under the ORLEN scheme. The ORLEN Lietuva outlets also offered to their customers the highest standard of services and goods, including the widest range of engine fuels. At the end of 2007, ORLEN Group offered Verva Diesel and Verva 95 enriched fuels to Lithuanian motorists.

The retail network in Lithuania, including 22 economy stations under the Ventus brand, sold over 90 million litres of fuels, i.e. nearly 24 percent more than in 2006.

The share of the retail market in Lithuania in the report period increased from 4.6 percent in 2006 to 5 percent.

The stations of both ORLEN Lietuva and Ventus operate two own card programmes under the names VENTUS and VENTUS ECO. The first card, VENTUS, enables non-cash purchase and is addressed to corporate customers. The ECO card is for individual customers and entitles them to discounts on cash purchases carried out in the Lithuanian network of ORLEN Group.
